About Carolina

Carolina sits east of San Juan, sharing the metro area's coastline and rhythms but holding its own identity as the hometown of Roberto Clemente. The Parque Histórico Roberto Clemente, the city's stadium, and small memorials around town keep his memory close — locals will tell you, with real feeling, that Clemente was from here.

Isla Verde, technically a stretch of Carolina, holds some of the metro's best beach and dining. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is in Carolina, which makes the city most people's first or last stop on the island. Beyond that, Carolina is a working metropolitan pueblo — schools, business, baseball, and a proud civic identity all in one place.
