About Maricao
Maricao sits in the Central Cordillera, northeast of Mayagüez. It's one of Puerto Rico's smallest and highest towns — the urban core is over 1,400 feet up, and the coffee farms climb to 2,500. Here grows the island's most prestigious coffee, known as Yauco Selecto and Café Especial. The National Coffee Festival is held every February — Puerto Rico's oldest coffee festival, with tastings, jíbaro music, traditional food, and roasting exhibitions. Maricao State Forest protects one of the Caribbean's most biodiverse ecosystems, home to the elfin-woods warbler and other endemic birds.

MemoryMy family has harvested coffee in Maricao since 1890. Four generations. Every harvest has a story. When someone drinks a cup of my coffee, they're drinking my great-grandfather's, grandfather's, father's, and my work.
