About Culebra
Culebra is Puerto Rico when it's left alone. An island about 12 kilometers long with a single town, no chain restaurants, no real traffic, and a light in the water that almost looks edited. Playa Flamenco, on the north coast, appears year after year on lists of the world's best beaches — fine sand, clear water, and the famous rusted military tanks as a reminder of what came before.
Beyond Flamenco, Culebra is a mosaic of coves: Playa Carlos Rosario, Playa Tortuga, Playa Zoni. The reefs are alive and snorkelers leave with memories. The island asks for time and a jeep — and to whoever gives it both, it gives back a version of the Caribbean that's getting hard to find.

MemoryGot to Flamenco at 7am with nobody there. The sun came up behind Cayo Luis Peña. I'm keeping that hour forever.

Local GemRent a jeep or a golf cart. Regular cars don't reach the hidden beaches and most of the best ones aren't on Google.
